noeluvia.com blog has been using movabletype platform since the start, there was no wordpress back then... 2003... or at least wordpress wasn't as popular yet. Movabletype has upgraded to version 4, which they say "is for all intents and purposes a totally new and different piece of software relative to its predecessors."
I will try to upgrade this blog and hopefully all the entries will be kept. Wish us luck.. we apologize if there will be any glitches along the way. This is also an opportunity for me to redesign the look of our blog... which I've been trying to do for the longest time.
It's Noel... yes I've been absent from this blog and focused mostly on my other blog. But last night I had a weird dream, and I didn't think it would've fallen into any of the categories there. The dream went like this:
The setting was college grounds, probably Ateneo, I was running around in its hallways.. running after a professor.. my English professor. I can vaguely remember who it was, but I think it could be the late Doreen Fernandez. She was in fact my English professor in college. My heart was pounding like I did something wrong. Then I went up to her and asked why she flunked me. She turned around and said something like: "Because you used wrong grammar" What happened after was a blur of images and words. The general feeling left me distraught. Words like Prepositions, Pronouns, Subject, Verbs came dropping from the sky and falling on my head leaving me lying flat on the floor. There was a particular phrase that we argued about, one that escapes my mind as of the moment. But it felt pretty serious to me during the dream.. like murder!
Yes, it is weird considering that I think I've never read or written as much in my life as I do now.

First started blogging back in 2003, before my birthday. It felt really strange at first, talking about our lives in cyberspace, speaking to no one in particular. But Noel had initially designed it to be a kind of he said/ she said blog. And it was mainly designed for us to keep in touch with our family and friends once we made the move to Italy. (Which at the time, we weren't sure if Noel would get the scholarship for his Master's in Interaction Design or not) In retrospect, this was really a great way to keep in touch (and continues to be!) as we chronicle our adventures as life unfolds. :)
Thanks to my wonderful husband for thinking of getting this blog started!
Now I get to tag you guys:
1. Betty - is doing a fantastic service to people who want to visit the South- http://southbound.ph/blog/ as she juggles that with being an architect and writer and a super supportive girlfriend and friend with a big heart. Lord knows how she does it all! :)
2. Jay - one of my oldest and dearest friends. She just got started in the blogging world, but I think she's having a lot of fun. Aside from being a talented dancer, she's a mean cook and uber talented writer to boot! :)
3. Sab - We've known each other since we were 6 years old! Now based in Canada with her hubby and Mom, she's good at almost anything: singing, dancing, cooking, you name it!
4. Chris - also based in Canada and another friend I've had since gradeschool- it was in 7th grade that we became friends. A very smart and talented girl who's such a loving wife and mom to her young family. A certified Mactoid too, just like Noel. :) Hehehe!
Here's our dog Lupo supporting Mother Earth with a green bag. (whoops green eyes!) Although pricey at PhP 100.00 a piece, think of it as doing your own small part to save our planet. :) This green bag came from Rustan's Rockwell. They're probably available at the other Rustan's groceries too. SM is also trying to do this, but you can't buy the green bags from there. You have to have spent a certain amount on certain products to get 1. (And theirs don't look as good as these canvass ones by Rustan's). Noel and I will keep our green bags in our car so we have them whenever we need them.
Here's Lupo again after his serious shot. Hehehe! He really likes this green bag, he was starting to get snuggly with it. Hahaha!
So do your part and invest in greenbags. Say no to plastic bags when grocery shopping! It may seem like a small thing, but can you imagine how much we would contribute if we all started using green bags instead?
Decided to finally do something about all the stuff that's been bothering me (stiff achy back and shoulders and tightness in the chest- diagnosed as stress nodules many, many years ago). Add to that the sleeplessness I've been dealing with the past few days and lots of anxiety which led to stomach problems and a headache... I decided to conquer my fear of needles and paid a visit to Noel's friend and schoolmate, Dr. Phil Tan-Gatue. (who told me he also reads our blog. Hi there Doctor!)
I was very nervous as I had planned to do this with Noel, but thought that if it helps with my pain (physical and emotional) then what a cool thing that'd be. The clinic was clean with soothing music piped in, airconditioning was quite comfortable. The space is actually shared by 4 doctors in total, all practitioners of alternative Eastern medicine. And I thought to myself, wow! Smells like weed. When I asked one of the assistants, she said it was dahon ni Maria (leaf of Maria) that they sometimes used to pad the needles with.
My blood pressure and weight were taken and soon after I was interviewed by Dr. Phil. His demeanor, though serious, was very calming as he proceeded to ask me questions about my work, eating habits and general lifestyle and of course what my chief complaints were.
Of course I shared my hopes of this helping me conceive- having tired of traditional medicine and hormone therapy that was my initial road for a fertility work-up. I told him about my Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome as well to give him more background. He said that he didn't want to use too many needles for our first session (which made me feel very relieved) as he didn't know how I'd react. (He also said as an added bonus, he'd be able to get rid of my zits. Yay! No need for painful derma visits) He did the front portion first. (By the time I was asked to get on the bed, my hands and feet were extremely clammy) I closed my eyes, as he proceeded to put needles in my wrists, feet and behind my knees. Almost immediately I felt the heavy sensation. (I later on found out that the heavier it feels, the more effective the treatment is) I could not move the extremities with needles in them so I had to ask one of the assistants to come in as my arm felt like it was going to fall off the bed- she quickly put a stool to bar my hand from falling off. I started to feel some anxiety rising being in a weird position all alone in the dark. After 30minutes the needles were removed, and everything still felt heavy. It took several minutes before I was able to move and go to the bathroom. Afterwhich, I had to lie on my tummy to have my back done. Another 30 minutes. After everything, I felt oddly sleepy. And hungry and thirsty. So I went home and had lunch. At around 1pm, it was very difficult to keep my eyes open. So I drifted off to sleep and continued to do so till 3pm! (Uninterrupted!!!) It was a very restful nap and I woke up feeling refreshed and quite calm. :) What a nice feeling! Thank God for people like Dr. Phil! And it only cost 870.00, just a bit more than a 1-hr. session at The Spa.
