Noel & Via

I've decided it's going to be very exciting turning 30. It's a nice round number, a whole new decade. Before the book The Secret (which my dearest Tita Cay gave to me) I was filled with doubt, worry and more doubt. Today I feel very positive and blessed and peaceful but at the same time, energized and happy. There's so much to look forward to. So many things ahead. Thanks to the help of many encouraging voices and warm smiles from new friends like Cathy, Roswitha, Angela, Tebs, Tanya, Bubbles, Yuko,(the list goes on!) and especially dear ones like Gretch, Jay, Kata, Brunella, my husband, Noel and family, I am ready and eager to celebrate my big 3-0! Here's my very grown-up wish list that I really indulged in practicing my new philosophy of not limiting myself to reality but embracing the vast potential of possibilities ahead. For nothing is too small or too great for the Universe to give you once you declare it. For having been lead to this realization, I thank God and shall continue to thank Him every day of my life. :)

This is Noel's second online interview. Read on to find out more about the celeb I'm married to. ;) Below is the introduction to the interview:

Noel Perlas (NP): Noel Perlas is the creative director of Perlas Design Studio (http://www.noelperlas.com) and concurrently the creative manager for Novare Technologies (http://www.novare.com.hk). This reflects his 2 passions, one for design the other for technology. Which is probably why he took up his masters at Interaction Design at now defunct Interaction Design Institute Ivrea (www.interaction-ivrea.it) in Italy. During his time in italy he was able to hold an exhibit with his classmates at the prestigious salone del mobile in Milan. Noel also worked briefly in the interface design department of Designafairs (www.designafairs.com) in Munich, Germany.

Pan's Labyrinth is already up in my top 5 movies of all time. It is all at once eerie, poignant, frightening, heart-warming and philosophical- a truly visual and auditory feast. Hearing the lullaby theme song once again in the film's official site gives me goose bumps- no other theme could've been more appropriate. And never have I seen creatures more imaginative and terrorizing- more so, I think since they spoke in Spanish- even more so, as some didin't speak at all. All the actors were exceptional, especially the little girl who played the lead role. It's a pity if you missed this on the big screen, though this is definitely something to be added to one's dvd collection.

My very nice German friend, Roswitha, invited us to her birthday party last April 21. It was a lovely dinner of two salads, some beef with mushroom, flowing wine (and San Miguel beer later on), a German pork dish and two types of homemade cakes- all of which were lovingly prepared by Roswitha. We were suprised that we were the only Filipinos there. We met a lovely young German couple with a new baby, a nice Latin-American couple, a few Germans (some from the Goethe Institut and the German Embassy) It felt like we were back in our Italian town, Ivrea, making new friends from all over the world(we can't believe it's been almost 3 years since we returned from Italy). Only this time, we were in Manila. And yet, wherever we are, it is always so fascinating to learn from different people. Thanks again Roswitha for a lovely time! :)
