Cool. Just got this link from Nathan. It's a new browser called Flock. What got me interested is the futuristic but elegant interface (i'm a sucker for interfaces you know). But what I am just trying out now is blogging from inside the browser. Yep. Aside from the "back" and "forward" button, there is "create a blog post" button. I'm typing this post right on a browser app which acts like a word processor, without having to log-in to my Movable Type account. So here it goes... pressing publish...
I was running a little late for a meeting I had this morning at 10am. So naturally I was in a bit of a rush. (Somehow we think we are a little invincible when are in a hurry) I just about saw the red left turn light when I was on Ortigas Ave.
About to make that left into Meralco Ave, I was already actually over the white lines that indicate where you stop, but didn't realize I was in trouble- YET. Until I saw the aqua uniform begin to take motion... towards me! :( Needless to say, I was pulled over and given my very first ticket! (I felt like Betty Cooper just dying to be bad. Hehehe!) Anyway, the lady MMDA was a kind one, bless her soul, didn't lecture me too long and didn't ask for any "for da boyz" (translation: bribe) She just issued me a ticket with a 150.00 fine, otherwise it would've been 500.00 or 600.00 for recklessness.
I claimed this after my meeting which I got to on time, sans my frazzled nerves from being caught. The good thing is, today they don't hold your license and you just pay the fine at the nearest Metrobank. Which is where I had to fill up the green form- that of course I didn't know about.
When I showed the ticket to the teller dude, first thing that came out of his mouth was: "A nahuli ka noh?" (translation: "So you got caught, ey?") Though he wasn't mean about it, it was more like "you wild thing you!" Er, maybe not. He was really surprised when he saw the sum I needed to pay. Pretty small for a traffic offender. So that was my run-in with the law, folks. I'm proud to say that "da boyz" got nothing from this reckless lady driver.

its sad but true. Look at this animation about designers.
Though there are certain things that are not within my comprehension, I must remind myself that it is not mine to question why things seemingly have no valid explanation. Just that they are. And there is a reason for this. I can kick and scream and cry all I want, but this really won't change anything. "For Your Word is Perfect and Your Will Divine."
To trust is really to let go. Why is it so hard for us humans to do just that? Particularly this human.
Hey guys, look at this article from Inquirer! My bags got featured! :) Special thanks to Maureen and Pam for helping make this happen! And to Noely for spotting the web version of this article.
Last saturday, while preparing to leave to spend a night over at my in-laws, Cosi-cosi (our jack russel terrier) got into a barking-scratching session with one of the stray cats sleeping under our car. Cosi rushed under car but I quickly pulled her out. I thought nothing had happened until a few minutes later I noticed that she had a scratch on her nose and her eye was bleeding. Luckily we were ready to leave and we passed by the vet to have her looked at. It was just a small scratch the doctor said.
This morning Via hitched a ride with me to work. While on C-5, we heard a crying cat. I turned down the radio and listened some more. It was still there at it seemed like it was coming from under our car. I also noticed that the other cars beside was looking at us as well. We thought that the cat was caught under our car's engine or something. We stopped our car for a moment and I squatted and looked under the wheels and even under the hood... Nothing! I tried to look around again... still nothing.
An old man walking by noticed us looking at our tires. He asked "flat?" Via answered, "No, there was a cat stuck." The man said "Ah.. pusa lang yan." (its just a cat).

I remember a discussion I had with my friend Padu when we were talking about which website was the largest we had ever done. Looking back, the biggest was the one that required a lot of "web apps." and that was ages ago.. it never really saw the light of day.
So I answered, I think the Tantra web redesign was contending to be the deepest, largest sites I've ever been involved in. There was a lot of planning involved and lot of new features making its way into the sitemap. Proof that it was an ever expanding site is that it still is not yet done, even after I had left.
A challenger to that throne is the job I took recently. In fact, the sitemap I am developing (which is now open in another window) looks almost like Tantra's except that I had to break it apart into two parts, the "end user" site and the "admin pages." So my point is that web design is still here and it is getting to be in-house and more involved.
of my battle with the treadmill, triceps machine- you get the picture. I started with Fitness First last week. It was a tough start, and it feels like an uphill climb as I don't want to go again today as I type this. I feel like the screaming first grader I was who needed to be dragged (and threatened) to go to school. If any of you have any gym tips you swear by, please share as I don't want to give up.
